With the addition of three new talented individuals, TargetPoint continues to build both our research sciences and political acumen. By adding nearly fifty years of combined political and research experience to our team, we are better positioned than ever to meet the unique challenges brought to us by each of our clients. We are also excited to be adding to our physical presence in the key battleground states of Florida and Michigan with the opening of offices in those states.

We hope you will take a few minutes to check out the backgrounds of Kara Douma, Jonathan Duke and Evan Stewart and feel free to reach out and talk to them or any of their talented colleagues when you need data and knowledge to create solutions for your challenges.

Kara Douma
Research Director

Kara Douma joins TargetPoint Consulting with 25 years of experience in survey research and is fortunate to count TargetPoint founder, Alex Gage, as an early mentor. Kara’s background includes work in state government, political campaigns, and public policy as well.

She’s conducted research for a diverse set of clientele including: state and local governments, non-profits state associations, hospitals, financial institutions, energy companies, the Michigan Republican Party, Michigan Senate Republican Campaign Committee, the Michigan House Republican Campaign Committee, Michigan State Chamber, and federal and state candidates.

As Research Director, Kara is involved in every aspect of the survey research process from drafting of surveys and data analysis to reporting of survey research. She previously held positions in the with Marketing Resource Group, Michigan State Senate and Public Sector Consultants and worked for some of the largest and most respected Republican polling firms in the country as an independent contractor during key election cycles. This includes managing the polling for the Michigan Senate Republican Campaign Committee in 1998 and 2002.

Kara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Honors from Michigan State University and was a Patricia Roberts Harris Graduate Fellow in Public Administration at MSU where she received the Pi Alpha Alpha award from The National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. She received formal survey research training through the University of Michigan’s Summer Institute for Survey Research.

Jonathan Duke
Strategy Director

Jonathan Duke joins TargetPoint as a Strategy Director from Michigan where he most recently served as the Political Director for the 2018 cycle under Ambassador Ron Weiser. As Political Director, he helped lead the successful effort to hold the GOP state legislative majorities. In the 2016 cycle, under the tutelage of now RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, Jonathan ran a first of its kind political program, Project Bench, which contributed to the historic victory for President Donald J. Trump. Jonathan has worked political campaigns across the country. Prior to his work with the Michigan Republican Party, he served in a variety of leadership roles in statewide and congressional campaigns. A Kentucky native, he also served there as State Director for the Republican National Committee.

Jonathan studied Business Management at Murray State University. In his free time, he enjoys improving upon his mediocre golf game and spoiling his adorable niece, Bianca.

Evan Stewart
Strategy Director

A graduate of Louisiana State University, Evan joins the TargetPoint team as an experienced Strategy Director, initially getting his start in politics interning for Governor Bobby Jindal’s Administration. Since then he has worked on countless political campaigns across the country as both an operative and consultant on races for the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and numerous Governors offices across the country. In addition to his electoral work, in 2015 he led the build out of Majority Hunter, a one-of-a-kind job placement, talent search, curated talent agency for which he was recognized as a 2017 “Rising Star” by Campaigns and Elections Magazine.

Though he remains a passionate LSU Tiger, he is currently an MBA candidate at the University of Florida and resides in Jacksonville, FL with his wife, Heather, and their dog, Patton.
