By October 14, 2020To The Point

TargetPoint Consulting was commissioned to conduct a survey by the Great Lakes Michigan Jobs Coalition to measure the opinions of Michiganders regarding the Great Lakes tunnel option. Michael Meyers, President and CEO of TargetPoint Consulting, recently discussed the findings of the survey with Mike Alaimo, Michigan Chamber of Commerce Director of Environmental & Energy Affairs, which can be found here. You may also view a press release from the Great Lakes Michigan Jobs Coalition summarizing the survey findings here.

Voters Overwhelmingly Support The Great Lakes Tunnel Project

6 in 10 registered voters say they support the Great Lakes Tunnel Project. This support is largely bipartisan with 73% of Republicans, 52% of Democrats, and 57% of Independents saying they support the project. Speaking on these findings, Meyers shared that, “Michigan voters really see this as a pragmatic solution to a difficult problem…That really goes across partisan boundaries, geographic boundaries, gender, and race. It’s a solution that Michigander voters really do support.”

Who Did We Survey?

The survey was conducted from September 15th –  September 18th, 2020 by TargetPoint Consulting. 800 interviews were conducted using both landlines and cell phones from a statewide sample of registered Michigan voters.
